If you’re looking for family fun in the Bay Area this summer, be sure to check out FunBox at Stoneridge Mall in Pleasanton, California. This all-new attraction just arrived and is the world’s biggest bounce park, full of fun adventures around every turn!
We were invited to visit FunBox by their social media team and all 3 kids had a blast. With over 25,000 square feet of continuous jumping zones and 10 different play areas, there truly is nothing like FunBox! The play areas are designed with kids in mind, but adults can have tons of fun at FunBox as well! FunBox attractions include climbing walls, slides, an obstacle course, a toddler jump house, battle beams, and a mountain challenge. There are also games like life-size Connect 4 and inflatable FunBox characters scattered throughout the bounce park area.
What should you know before coming to FunBox? First of all, arrive early. We had VIP tickets and were able to skip the line – but definitely plan to arrive 15-20 minutes early to secure your spot! You are also required to wear socks. FunBox sells non-slip socks at the gate, but you can bring your own. Lastly, bring water! All that jumping will make you thirsty, and although they sell overpriced bottles of water, it’s so much more convenient to bring your own.
What did we think of FunBox in Pleasanton? FunBox was super fun for all 3 kids (ages 2, 6, and 13). As we went through the bounce park, I did notice that some parts of the bounce park were not inflated. There were basketball hoops in one area, but no balls to use. One part of the park was extremely dusty and dirty. We also found it odd that they rushed everyone out of the park at the 90 minute mark (how long your bounce passes are valid for) “for cleaning” between sessions, but we saw them start letting in the next group maybe 5-10 minutes after we left, if that gives you any inclination of how much “cleaning” got done.
The negative aspects aside, my kids had a wonderful time. This was the perfect spot to get their energy out and wear them out for the rest of the day. The toddler jump house is completely separate from the bounce park, perfect for little ones not to get trampled by big kids and adults in the main area. The toddler jump house was filled with inflatable donuts, obstacles, and endless opportunities for fun. My wild 2 year old loved the main park just as much, and he was even able to navigate the entire obstacle course mostly on his own, even as I struggled and huffed and puffed behind him. Parents must stay close to their kids at all times, as there are many turns and corners and it can be easy to lose sight of your child, especially during busy times. The staff members, although friendly, were mostly nonexistent and unhelpful. It is also important to note, there is only one entrance/exit to each part, so once you’re in, you’re in. This can make it even more difficult with small children.
There were a few large tents with tables and chairs for parents to relax, so if you have school-aged kids, this is the perfect place to hang out while the kids jump and explore. My husband was able to sit comfortably while I ran around with the kids.
You can also purchase snow cones (although FunBox gifted us free vouchers) that are a great way to cool off after your jump time. They only had one flavor of syrup, which was kind of odd given the dispenser had probably 10 different nozzles, but the kids all loved their snow cones nonetheless.
